About Me

Hi, my name is Lauren. I am the wife to a hardworking man, and the mother to 3 wonderful children. We have a silly 3 year old, a spirited 2 year old, and a sweet as sugar 7 month old.

I always knew I wanted a few kids, and I always knew I wanted to stay home with them for the first 5 years. In fact, I made sure to inform my husband of that before we were married. I was going to stay home with my babies. My parents made it work, and we could too. It was important to me. So when we had our first baby, I was stepped away from my career as a classroom teacher, and into the home full-time. What a blessing!

What I didn't know, is how quickly we would want that "baby" to turn into "babies", and how it seems that despite all the chaos and crying we are surrounded by every. single. day... we keep wanting more! When we got married, he wanted 2 kids, and I wanted 3.... now we think we are going to compromise and have 5. That's how that works, right?

Another thing that surprised me, is our desire to homeschool our growing collection of babies. I'll save the "Why" behind that for another day, but I'm so thrilled that this is the path we are taking. Motherhood is hard work, teaching is hard work. What could go wrong?

I am creating this space to share our educational journey. As my oldest turns 4, our schooling is taking a slightly more serious turn. We are attempting new things, trying to figure out what works, and learning a few tricks along the way. Hopefully this blog will be a helpful resource to families who are following similar paths. At the very least, it will be a place where I can come to look back on the memories we made once our journey is over.. That's if I can stay at this whole blogging thing for at least the next 20 years. 51 year old me would love that. Let's do it!
